SUMMARY:Sunday at the Vihara
DESCRIPTION:All are welcome to join a collective meal offering and/or Dhamma program. It is helpful if you RSVP here for the meal (available 3 weeks in advance). \nSchedule:\n10:30 am: Vihara opens\, arrive with dish to share before meal time\n11:00 am: Meal offering to the monastics followed by pot-luck\, then clean-up\n12:00 pm: Tea and visiting. All are welcome to arrive\, leave\, or stay during this time\n1:00 pm: Dhamma program including chanting\, meditation\, Dhamma and sharing. On the first Sunday Gathering of the month\, there is also an option to take refuge in the Three Jewels and the five lay precepts at the beginning of the program.\n3:00 pm: Vihara closes. The library is open until 5:00 pm \nWe are located at 1442 Gise St in Port Townsend. Please be considerate of our neighbors and others when parking. Street parking is available for about 4 cars at the vihara. Additional street parking is available on surrounding streets and the Haines Place Park & Ride is a short walk away. \nThe teachings are freely given. If you would like to offer dana\, there is a dana basket at the vihāra or you may offer online at our donation page.

DESCRIPTION:Join the Pārāyana Vihāra community for our regular evening practice of meditation and chanting. \nPuja begins at 6:30 pm. Please arrive a few minutes early and set up your seat. There are a variety of mats\, cushions\, chairs\, and meditation benches for your use. We will begin with chanting\, meditate together in silence\, and close by sharing the merits of our practice. \nThe library is also open beginning at 4:00 pm on Wednesdays and you are welcome to stay until puja. We enter noble silence for the evening at the close of puja.

DESCRIPTION:The Buddha’s path offers us refuge in the midst of the challenges of life. In our practice together\, we will be developing the Five Spiritual Faculties – saddhā (confidence or faith)\, viriya (sustained energy)\, sati (presence\, awareness)\, samadhi (collectedness of heart and mind)\, and paññā (wisdom and clear seeing) to refresh or rediscover the stability\, confidence and joy that is part of our true nature.
